Match Day Madness

Can You Hear Toronto Sing!?

Lord knows i couldn't, those poor little frost babies didn't have much to sing about.
The atmosphere at todays game was the absolute best i've ever seen, so many people out singing and screaming and cheering on the mighty crew. I very much hope we can keep up similar numbers through the season. Now I know that this was a particularly big game but hell I can't help but get caught up in it. Amazing, amazing support everyone, lets keep it up.
Here are the pictures I took today at the match, just a few i was to busy singing like an idiot to take that many. I'll have propagandized versions of 'em up later, thanks for reading!

Crewsmas Eve

Hey well I haven't posted anything for awhile, but tomorrow I'll have pictures from the game and maybe make Propaganda out of a few of them. In the mean time I'd like to thank everyone for voting the banner poll and put out this new wallpaper for everyone. It's been on the link for a few days now but why not make it official

So here ya go and see ya at the game tomorrow!
Go! Go! Black and Gold!

The Banner

The North End is, as we all know, is gone. However it has been replaced with what has now been popularly christened the Nordecke (German for north corner i believe) and with this new section seems to come new unity and drive among the supporters. So with that spirit I bring you my ideas for the Nordecke banner. A discussion that was first started over on BS by our man over at crewture has stirred up a good bit of interest so here it is my thoughts on a banner for the Nordecke...

I've been reading you're posts on big soccer and added a 5th idea based off what I've been reading. It's replaced the much maligned Banner 1, so here ya go, let me know what you think.

Banner 1

Banner 2 (inspired by Crewfighters suggestion about the "Bad Boys Blue")

Banner 3

Now if we would all look just above we will see one of my hopeless fantasies.
No it's not Isla Fisher wearing little more than a jersey. No this hopeless fantasy has to do with a downtown stadium for my beloved crew.

Whilst in a state of extreme boredom earlier today i had the question of what would that stadium look like pop into my head and this is what came out the other side.

Now what happened is i busted out my good old friend google earth and used the wonderful measurement tool. From here i figured out roughly how many yards wide and long the stadium itself. What startled me was that when i checked it against the arena district it was about the same as nationwide arena. So I used that as my model for this fake little stadium. Now this fake stadium isn't without its troubles, to find space within the arena district i had to eat up the on-ramp and shuffle around railway lines that buzz right by.
Now the Highway exit shouldn't be to tough to fix, just flop it to the other side of the highway or put it a little up or down the road. (of course i say this in delicious ignorance to the enormous costs and gripes this causes) the rail lines could be a problem and i can honestly say i have no idea how to fix that. But hey who cares this is my fantasy and how god damn cool would this stadium be.
and here is my list of delusional perks.

1.) guaranteed a second MLS cup in the new ground
-this equals money money money
2.) Attractive to foreign players who might not want to play in an erector set by the filthy old fairgrounds.
3.) huge publicity for the team plus naming rights, which as we all know equals more of that tasty money.
4.)NIGHT OUT! people come to blue jackets games right now who dont give a damn about hockey. Why you ask, well its simple, its a night out. It's something to do, ya dont just go to the game and go home. No! you go get dinner then see a game, then maybe go to a club or bar and most importantly hang out in one of the coolest newest places in the city. This is huge! besides all the new people you see who will come to see the new stadium, you now get people who come out to make an evening out of the games

But, as we all know CCS will be around for a long time to come, it's an old pioneer who just got a new look. However it can't last forever, nope all things must come to an end and when that happens I'm thinking a certain district in the downtown will need a new touch to bring the hip edge to its now midlife stadiums. So when that day comes I dont care if i have to draw up the plans myself I want a stadium in the Arena District.

okay well thats enough madness, I'm off to do other equally useless things.

Well here I am posting the very first in what i hope to be a series of semi-successful bloggings.
I'm aware that what I'm doing here could be considered simply adding to the scored of the much maligned and always hated Fan Art. However I say I'm not adding to it, no i will be so arrogant as to say I'm Creating it. MLS has a woeful shortage of simple things such as wallpapers, screen savers, and interesting graphic design. If a league is going to have success it's going to need a buzz around it, and that buzz comes not only from the teams and player but from the fans. So to add to everyone's rumoring and water cooler buzzing I am going to (if anyone happens to read this) give ya something to look at.

Now I plan to do this mostly through my reliance on my own lameness that compels me to do such things as cobble together wallpapers and pictures about the teams I love. However once the games roll around I plan to do this through taking pictures of the fans and of the action.
With any luck this will allow you (my only reader) to show off your team to your mates and maybe put my wall's on your computer.

Anyways thanks for reading here is my first of what will hopefully be many links
